Naturopathy is a holistic approach to health care which is founded in the understanding that
the body has its own innate ability to heal itself if given the right environment to do so. It also
recognises that a person’s physical, mental and emotional health all impact on each other.
The aim in naturopathy is to identify and treat the underlying cause/s of illness or disease to
ensure lasting results.
Emily consults at Melbourne Sports and Spinal Osteopathic Clinic on Tuesday and Fridays.

About Emily
Emily has always had a strong interest in health and understanding the human body. This,
coupled with a desire to help people, resulted in her studying nursing. She completed her
nursing degree in 2005 and when she went on to work in an acute care hospital, she noticed
that despite access to good medical care, her patients continued to return to the hospital
sicker and sicker.
This prompted Emily to look elsewhere for a more holistic, natural approach to health care
that addresses the underlying cause of disease and takes into account the whole person,
leading her to study naturopathy.
Having a firm foundation in both the traditional medical model and natural medicine gives
Emily a unique understanding of health and disease and she knows just how important it is
to uncover and address the root cause of your disease rather than just putting bandaids on
symptoms.
Alongside nursing and naturopathy qualifications, Emily is also a Reiki and EFT (Emotional
Freedom Technique) practitioner and has a particular interest in the role the mind plays in
health and disease. Emily has experienced first-hand how changing your thoughts and
emotions can profoundly improve your physical and mental health and she loves helping
people discover this for themselves.
